Why do you think your company or organization was named a Best Place to Work? Over the years, the success of CHASSE Building Team has been a direct result of our people. Making sure they feel valued, inspired and appreciated is our top priority. A big part of how we do this is by celebrating each other’s victories. Win a project? Ring the victory bell! Those celebrating their five-year anniversaries receive a personalized bobblehead made in their likeness. We support our employees through career and leadership development, volunteering in their communities with friends and family, and providing flexible work hours.
What impacts have you seen as a result of your efforts to develop or improve your culture? Camaraderie and growth! We’ve seen growth every year since inception by keeping our team and culture a top priority. We have multiple committees focused on different aspects of the company. One of those focuses solely on culture. This group continually seeks new and creative ways to enhance communication, passion and understanding of the history of CHASSE.
Does your organization’s community involvement or perks you offer help in recruiting new employees? Although most employers in our industry offer perks and give back to the community, recruits are often shocked to realize just how passionate CHASSE is about both. Our purpose is “Building to make a difference…for our teammates, our clients building experience, and within our Arizona communities.” Culture and philanthropy are at the core of everything we do.
What has been your company or organization’s most successful team-building activity? We host three major company events every year: The CHASSE holiday party, STAYcation and a camping trip. Collectively, these events are a way for us to say thank you to our team that continually goes above and beyond in all that they do. Additionally, these events are good opportunities to interact with and get to know each other’s families, as they are all invited to attend.
What does it mean to achieve Best Places to Work status? We love that this award is a result of employee feedback. It demonstrates that we are succeeding in creating a work environment that’s welcoming, inclusive and fun.
What is your favorite/most effective perk that your company or organization offers? Beyond all the team-building events, the best thing about CHASSE is the ability to establish a healthy work-life balance. Our leadership team recognizes the success we’ve achieved as a company is a result of long days (that usually turn into weeks, months and sometimes years) of hard work. We know our team provides the best services, so giving them the latitude to work at their own pace with time off to recharge and refuel is exceedingly important. In fact, we recently established a rule that applies to all 11-year employees: you must take a mandatory 11-day holiday/sabbatical to the destination of your choice!
