Since kicking off the Alhambra Elementary School District Gymnasium projects off last year, we have had a blast getting to know the students of Granada Elementary, Catalina Ventura School, Sevilla Elementary, Barcelona Elementary and James W Rice Elementary. CHASSE has worked alongside students to help them further understand the construction process of their new gym while incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into their lessons. Check out what they’ve been up to!
CATALINA VENTURA SCHOOL
CHASSE Superintendent Austin hosts a monthly STEM program with the 8th grade science class where they discuss how construction is related to their coursework. Last week, they discussed how gravity and mass effect us, and how to choose the right crane based on how heavy the load. Additionally, CHASSE provided hard hats and vests for the schools talent show last Thursday!
JAMES W. RICE ELEMENTARY
At James W. Rice Elementary, Superintendent Andy went classroom to classroom to celebrate Reading Day by reading aloud to the students. The students presented Andy with cards to show their appreciation!
SEVILLA ELEMENTARY
Superintendent Clent took 5th through 8th grade classes on site tours to further explain the building process and showcase the inside of the new gymnasium. On the site tours, Principal Jennifer Bunch, along with some of her staff signed the gym floor concrete as the slab was being poured!
