The Mesa Artspace Lofts consist of four structures connected by elevated breezeways and amenitized courtyard with a focus on the arts and bringing people together. This is a property designed and constructed by artists for artists and the advancement of artistic endeavors.
The 3-story structure provides housing for artists qualified as low income with the ground floor containing a gallery for performance and visual arts. The complex is a 50-unit multifamily development consisting of live/work space for artists and their families. Units vary from studio, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms. The project includes 1,450 SF of ground floor commercial space for nonprofit art organizations and creative businesses, as well as 2,900 SF of community space for events, exhibitions, and educational programs. The single-story community building will be used for artistic community outreach with schools and nonprofit organizations, as well as professional training on how to market and manage a small business in the art industry.
The most critical of all amenities was the design of a working art studio space provided in each unit. This allows residents to practice their craft without the expense of renting an art studio. Additional amenities on this project include a water feature, amphitheater, garages, art studio flex space, gathering and assembly space, artistic supply storage areas, fruit trees, and a lush landscape. Additionally, Mesa Artspace Lofts was designed to be eco-friendly. In order to achieve LEED for Homes Midrise Platinum certification, the project incorporated various energy efficient systems including LED lighting and low flow water restrictions.
