Planned and built with sustainability as a priority, the 34,000 SQFT concrete block building is light-filled and energy efficient. The build features 18- to 24-foot tall ceilings, state-of-the-art gymnastics equipment and dance studios, and an expanded learning center for pre-K students. Parents and families can enjoy the amenities while on-site at the snack and coffee bar, class observation area, gift shop, or in the 10,000 SQFT fenced-in courtyard shaded by citrus trees.
During the design process, an energy management system was demonstrated to reduce the need for internal lighting by taking advantage of natural daylight whenever possible. By incorporating more efficient HVAC equipment, interior LED lighting, using exterior mass walls, R-40 roof insulation, and improving daylight distribution with solatube skylights and kalwall glazing, the building sees over a 30% reduction in annual energy consumption compared to a minimally code-compliant facility.
