CHASSE Tucson Participates in ABA’s Volunteer Day!

The Arizona Builder’s Alliance held their 24th Annual Volunteer Day in Tucson this past week. Leigh-Anne Harrison, Client Services for our Tucson office, sat as a Volunteer Day Committee Co-Chair!

Over 200 volunteers from the ABA membership participated in this years Volunteer Day! This year the project supported TMM Family services. TMM Family Services serves Southern Arizona families at risk, children in foster care, single mother survivors of abuse, seniors, veterans, and low income residents at-risk to become homeless. TMM Family Services provides housing, educational support, counseling, and skill building. They help over 3,000 people annually!

This year improvements included the renovation of a housing unit for qualified low income family, senior, veteran, or disabled individuals. Volunteers painted, participated in landscaping, and removed unwanted shrubbery. Volunteers also donated and decorated Christmas trees and cookies for resident seniors. The project also collected gently used and new clothing, shoes, cleaning supplies, canned goods, and toiletries that will benefit all residents.

The previous 23 volunteer days have raised $2.3 million for Tucson charitable organizations. The ABA is now accepting submissions for the 2019 Volunteer Day Recipient.

Recipient must be a charitable organization (501c3) in need of free renovation assistance. The facility must be in the Tucson area, own its own building, and preferably provide services to underprivileged children, families in need, or the elderly. Private and public schools are not eligible. If your organization would like to apply, please contact the ABA at 520-881-7930 or [email protected] for the application form.
